DAVID GERLACH(b.1950, USA):
"In my view I feel it safe to say that working abstractly is empirical. The shapes, lines and forms employed are based on senses familiar to me. These senses are drawn from the historical dialogue I have with myself. As one will have moments stirred from music, conversation or the color of the day of past events so called memories. These memories form definitions that construct a creative vocabulary used in the creative process. Emotions being either positive or nagaitive can be used in the creative process to navigate and propel the artist to new discoveries. Instigating a better understanding of ones self and the universe we are all part of. "
